How it works

Learn about Retold’s story, processes, and how to give your old textiles the best chance of a #NoLandfill future!

Gather your gear & get your bags

Once your bags are ordered, start sorting! When your bags arrive, it's time to start packing. Items like solo socks, worn-out bras, t-shirts, jeans, and dresses are all accepted in our Classic Retold Bags, while scraps and other small materials should be recycled in our Fabric Scrap Bags. Stuff up to 5lbs of material, peel the adhesive strip, and stick!

Drop it like it’s hot

Fill your bag, whether it’s just one sock or packed to the brim! Our pre-labeled bags come with a shipping label already attached, so they’re good to go right away. *For orders of Three Bags in a Box, labels can be purchased from our label generator. Once you're all set, simply drop it off at your mailbox, mail room, or with your doorman and skip the lines at the post office! We'll take it from there, giving your unwanted items a whole new story to tell.

We’ll do the right thing

Once we receive your bags, our recycling partners sort the textiles based on fiber content, quality, and style. This sorting process ensures that your textiles are distributed fairly, for their best chance at a second life. This helps save textiles from going directly to the landfill, minimizes waste, and promotes a circular economy! We do our best to keep every item #NoLandfill.
