On Jan 12, we learned that our logistics partner, FirstMile, was forced to unexpectedly suspend operations.
As a result, we had to pause sending orders placed from Jan 6 onwards.
We returned to normal shipping, with our new logistics partner, on Feb 4.
On Jan 21, it was also confirmed that the return postage labels currently on Retold bags will remain functional and won't need to be replaced. So you may continue returning your filled bags via USPS as per usual!

I hear Retold now has Two Types of Bags!
Yes! While we still have our original Classic Retold Bags for household textiles and clothing, we also now offer dedicated Fabric Scraps Bags!
What can I include in a Retold Classic Bag?
Classic Bags are for clothes and household textiles - think blankets, towels, and bed linen, etc!
We can take damaged items, items you think are okay to donate, and, yes, items that can actually be resold (even new with tags)!
We simply ask that all your items are washed and dried (please).
Anything I should know NOT to include?
Thanks for asking! Please do not include:
Items with stuffing, like pillows, comforters, and mattress pads.
Blood and paint-stained items.
Bathmats.
Shoes, belts, purses, bags, and hats - (unless they are in good enough condition to be resold)

What can I include in a Fabric Scraps Bag?
Our Fabric Scraps Bags are for primarily for leftover fabric. This might be from your projects - think sewing, quilting, and crocheting, for example!
We can also take teeny tiny pieces, like thread, yarn, embroidery stabilizers, sewing interfacing, and quilt batting, in our bags.
There are some items, however, that we can't accept in our Fabric Scraps Bags. These include:
Leather scraps, Plastic-coated textiles (PVC/vinyl, polyurethane, etc.), Scrims using plastic, Down-filled items, Wet or chemically-contaminated materials, Neoprene and foam.
What is the Retold Goes Green Bag?
The Retold Goes Green Bag is a special, limited-edition version of our Classic Bag.
It’s designed in collaboration with local PNW artist TryCarrots to bring a fresh green look to your recycling routine. It retains all the functionality of our regular Classic Bag, just with a stylish, seasonal twist.
If you need to recycle fabric scraps, craft remnants, or cuttings, please use our Fabric Scraps Bags - still in our Retold Yellow!
What happens to the items I put in my Retold bags?
Classic Bag items are sorted by our recycling partners by type and quality. Once sorted, they find their next home! Some intact and wearable items go to U.S. thrift stores or charities, while the rest find a new form. Through both upcycling and downcycling. We do our best to keep every item #NoLandfill.
Materials from our Fabric Scraps Bag go directly to a U.S. downcycler to be transformed into reusable fiber.

Do bags come with prepaid return shipping?
Yes, Retold mailer bags come with prepaid shipping labels.
Be sure to check inside your Retold package for the label, peel off the backing, and stick it to the backside of your bag before mailing!
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Our bags are sent from California.
Though it depends on your location, we find that USPS typically takes between 2 days to 2 weeks to deliver.
Our bags ship in our signature brown kraft envelopes: Compact, eco-friendly, and easy to spot in your letterbox!
Please note that aside from 10-packs, our orders do not come with postal tracking.
How do Retold subscriptions work?
Retold has two types of Subscriptions, Annual and Quarterly!
The main difference: The Annual Subscription is one upfront payment, while the Quarterly involves four (smaller) quarterly payments.
Both types of Retold subscriptions send 3 bags upfront and are followed by a single bag upon further installments!
Meaning you get 6 bags, in total, per year (and 30lbs of recycled material)!
Who is entitled to Retold Rewards?
Retold Rewards is a special treat just for our subscription holders.
Simply add at least one item to one of your subscription bags and send it in.
Once we receive it, you will get an email unlocking our Rewards Gallery. You can then select a reward of your choice. It's approx $15 of value back in your pocket each quarter!
I want to cancel my subscription. How do I do that?
Oh we are bummed! But we get it, and, yes, you can cancel any time. You can access your Customer Info via your original subscription email confirmation, and then select to cancel.
However, please note that by purchasing either the Annual Subscription or the Quarterly Subscription you are committing to the entire purchase price charged to date. There are no refunds or credits for partial subscription terms.

But isn't it bad for the environment to use your plastic yellow Retold bags?
Actually, our bags aren't plastic! They are made from cornstarch and are completely biodegradable and compostable. It was really important to us to find bags that wouldn’t add to landfill. Woot!
How long do I have until I have to send in my Retold bags?
You can take as long as you want!
You can also return your filled Retold Bags from anywhere. Simply drop them in the nearest mail box or at the closest post office!
Please just keep in mind that our bags are made of cornstarch, and, after a year or so, they can become fragile.
What is your Shipping Policy?
Retold Recycling Items:
Shipping is included on all Retold Recycling recycling mailer bags. Shipping for merch (tote bags etc.) varies based on shipping address and will be displayed at checkout.
Sustainable Store items:
Shipping for Sustainable Store products is determined by the supplier. Shipping costs and shipment details are handled by each supplier.
